An Elegant Engagement Session at Union Station | Washington DC Editorial Wedding & Engagement Photographer
Absolutely flabbergasted that people this pretty exist!
Melanie & Matthew’s March 2025 engagement session at Washington D.C.’s iconic Union Station was the stuff of every photographer’s dream. Melanie paired a simple cream sweater dress with Matthew’s brown corduroy button-down to create a soft, elevated wardrobe vibe.
Before we photograph each of our couples, we ask them how they feel about those “blurry photos” that have become a staple in our editorial work (the proper term is shutter drag, but most folks aren’t going to know that so I’m rolling with “blurry”). I personally love imperfect photos and feel they add a sense of emotion and nostalgia to my work when viewed in a gallery like the one below, but I’ve seen a lot of online commentary that they’re an example of “bad photography” from the old heads. I guess my clients like bad photography because every single one of our 2025 couples so far has given us a resounding “HECK YES” when I ask them if these are something they would like me to create for them. Matthew & Melanie were no exception! Absolutely living for the enthusiasm of our clients this year.
Looking forward to photographing their Summer 2025 wedding in Maryland!
